The most technically challenging trade in building construction is that of Waterproofing. It is often also the most difficult to diagnose when things go wrong and the consequences of improper waterproofing can be catastrophic: Dry rot, toxic mold, structural damage, damage to furniture and belongings, ceiling and wall stains, dry wall damage and, in the case of income property, unhappy tenants and/or lost revenue. At CBCI we know what it takes to properly waterproof a building based on decades of successfully installing new and replacement waterproof balconies, decks, and other waterproofing systems. We are also expert in the diagnosis and repair of existing waterproofing systems and remediation of any resultant water damage.
Whether you have a multi-thousand square foot apartment or condominium balcony waterproof system or a small second-story waterproof deck off your master bedroom, CBCI can provide a tailored solution that is perfect for you. Our services range from diagnosis and repair of defects in your existing deck, to removal and replacement of your existing decking with a new system, to installation of a custom waterproof surface on your newly constructed balcony or deck. We offer a broad range of beautiful deck finishes including smooth, texture, and simulated natural stone, tile or brick, as well as a broad range of custom stamps and faux finishes, all available in a variety of colors. At CBCI, we create long-lasting beauty and give you waterproofing peace of mind. Call us for your next Deck or Balcony waterproofing project.

Subterranean water seepage into structures is one of the most insidious problems encountered in construction. It is difficult to diagnose, difficult to repair and can create a plethora of problems for the building owner or occupant: Mold and musty smells, structural damage, dry wall damage, sloughing stucco, dry-rotted wood, efflorescence (white powder formation) in concrete, and ceiling and wall stains to name a few. The answer is to do it right the first time and we at CBCI know exactly what that means based on our decades of waterproofing experience. And, if your system was initially not properly waterproofed, we know what it takes to fix it. If you have a waterproofing problem or need a new system installed, call CBCI and rest assured it will be done right the first time.
Most waterproofing companies conduct a visual inspection of the roof and waterproofing systems or use moisture meters to determine water damage due to leaks. However, this isn’t the most effective strategy. Leaks can be overlooked, causing more serious interior and structural damage, additional service calls and increased repair expense. Worse yet, an undetected leak can create an environment where toxic mold can grow, exposing the building owner to costly mold remediation programs. But our state-of-the-art infrared thermographic imaging technology helps identify the precise source of the leak so leaks are repaired correctly and cost-effectively the first time.
Once the origin of a leak has been identified and the extent of the resulting damage determined, the CBCI Construction team will repair the leak as well as any damage that might have been done to the structural sheathing. We will then work with you to ensure that any interior water damage is properly remediated.
If you suspect that your roof, balcony, or waterproof deck is leaking, give us a call. We can show you exactly where your leak is originating and prepare a comprehensive repair cost estimate. We can even coordinate service with your home or commercial insurance carrier. And our remediation / repair work may be covered by the exceptional CBCI Warranty!
Most waterproofing companies conduct a visual inspection of the roof and waterproofing systems or use moisture meters to locate water intrusion due to leaks. This simply tells them that water has leaked into your home which you probably already knew! The challenge in leak repair is identifying the SOURCE of the leak so it can be repaired. This often condenses down to "guesswork" by the inspector based on the location of the interior damage and based on what defects he can see in the waterproofing system – your deck, balcony, roof, stairs, or other systems. As the word ‘guesswork’ implies, this can be a "crap shoot" and, with the very next rain storm, your newly repaired interior can again be soaked by a leak that was just "fixed". Or, worse yet, the leak has been reduced to an invisible trickle that fuels the growth of toxic mold or results in serious structural damage due to dry rot or termites.
CBCI takes the guesswork out of leak detection by using state-of-the-art infrared thermographic imaging technology. This approach identifies the location, extent, and saturation level of water intrusion through the use of extremely sensitive infrared cameras that measure temperature differences of less than 0.08 degrees F. The use of thermographic imaging allows us to "follow the trail" of water leaks directly to the source so leaks are repaired correctly and cost-effectively the first time.
If you have a leak and want it fixed right the first time, call CBCI Construction. We'll make sure you are ready for the rain!
