Southern California's Roofing, Siding and Waterproofing Experts

Pitched / High-Slope Roofing Systems

CBCI has extensive experience in high-slope roofing applications, including virtually all-modern pitched-roof systems. These include shingles fabricated from natural wood and simulated shake and composition asphalt/fiberglass laminate, as well as light- and standard-weight tiles in slate, concrete, fiber-cement and clay ("Spanish tile").

As a licensed General Contractor, CBCI can remodel, renovate, or repair your roof’s structure to accommodate a change in roof slope, shape, or design. CBCI employees are experienced in economical, safe wood repair and reconstruction to ensure compliance with all Building Code requirements.

Within the past decade, a virtual revolution has taken place in the development of new materials for “underlayment” (the waterproof membrane that is installed beneath the roof’s shingles). No longer must we rely on “tar paper” (asphalt-impregnated felt) as the last barrier to moisture-intrusion. It has long been recognized that felt underlayment’s are fragile and can fail far earlier than the shingles or tiles above them, negating the value of the long warranties of the expensive roofing products. The new underlayment’s (a variety of synthetic materials) are highly sophisticated, and are available with a variety of properties (permeability, flexibility, tear-resistance, etc.) to mate to the requirements of almost any roof installation. Not only do they prevent water intrusion, they also allow moisture (water vapor) inside the building to escape. And unlike felt paper, synthetic underlayment’s often are provided with warranties that equal the lifetime of the roof above them.

Whatever your need, we’ll counsel you on the best approach for your unique situation, ensuring a durable, cost-effective roofing system that will provide decades of trouble free service.
